Training Workshop on Using PSW to Identify SLD

Dr. Dehn will present on his Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses (PSW) model for the identification of specific learning disabilities (SLD). The workshop focuses on recommended procedures for identifying statistically significant strengths and weaknesses. A demonstration of Dehn’s PSW software — the Psychological Processing Analyzer (PPA) — is included.

PPA 7.0 has just been released. The PPA is software designed to identify an examinee’s pattern of strengths and weaknesses (PSW) among cognitive processes and areas of achievement. New features include:
- New easy-to-use, drop-down menus.
- Recommendations for cognitive weaknesses.
- Classroom observations can be added to the report.
- Up to six test scores can be entered for each area.
- The addition of several more batteries and scales.

New Dyslexia Screener for Ages 4 through 7
In the spring of 2020, Schoolhouse Educational Services will be releasing the Reynolds Dyslexia Risk Questionnaire (RDRQ). The RDRQ, authored by Cecil Reynolds and Rebecca Gerhardstein Nader, is an online rating scale with teacher and parent forms for 4 – 5 and 6 – 7 year-olds. With 40 to 60 items on each of the forms, parents and teachers can complete the scale in just a few minutes, making it ideal for universal screening.
New Parent Executive Functions Form
The McCloskey Executive Functions Scale (MEFS) currently has an online teacher rating scale. With norming now complete, a MEFS parent rating form will be released later this fall.
